Dr. Heck was the first criminal justice instructor I ever had and no one has come close since. He inspired me to continue into Grad school and I had the privilege of taking almost every one of those classes from him. There is no telling how many officers he has inspired in the same way. He made an incredible impact on the lives of thousands of officers from across the United States. Thank you Dr. Heck. You will be sorely missed.

Dr. Heck was the best professor that I ever had. His unique style of teaching will be greatly missed at NSU. Tahlequah won't be the same without him. I learned a lot from him and he is one of the reasons I decided to become a police officer. You will be deeply missed Dr. Heck!

Dr. Heck was an amazing man. Not only was he a brilliant educator, but he was caring and giving of himself as well. You could count on him to give you sound advice when you were having trouble and to point you on the right career path as well. My heart goes out to his wife, his children, siblings and other extended family. To those who called him friend, my condolences. I know I will always remember his lessons because he had such a unique way of teaching them.
