Jennifer continues to fight her cancer. This second cancer has spread to bone and can be treated but cannot be cured. Her fondest wish has been to go to Alaska and her fellow Tulsa police officers and friends are determined to make that happen.
Recently, a fundraiser was held at "McNellies" pub. Thanks to owner Elliot Nelson, a firm supporter of the police, for generous assistance.
Following is a short note from Officer Jeri Tucker about the event:
TPD Family,
I am happy to tell all of you that the fund raiser for Jennifer at McNellie's last night was a HUGE success! We raised $5273.00.
Thanks to everyone for coming out to support Jennifer. She has expressed to me that she feels so loved and blessed to be surrounded and supported by all of you. It is a reflection on our entire department.
Thanks again to all of you.

Sounds like Jennifer is going to get that trip. Further fundraising is planned.

I work on the oncology floor at St. John Medical Center and cannot begin to tell you how touched we, as hospital staff, were by the outpouring of love and support the TPD showed for Officer Jennifer Mansell during a candlelight vigil held on a rooftop adjacent to her room. Nurses and nursing assistants from both shifts were priviledged to witness the caring heart of the Tulsa Police Department for one of their own. Jennifer is blessed to have such supportive fellow officers.

Hi Lisa - TPD definitely played an instrumental role in planning and putting together last night's vigil, but there were lots of us there who were civilians touched by Jen's life and love for the Tulsa community. Myself and some of my coworkers worked with her in a social work capacity while she was the safety liaison downtown and her heart is larger than anyone I have ever met. The vigil did not do justice to the person that she is, but it was the least we could do to remind her how much she is loved and respected - not only by TPD, but by many of us here in the community.

Jennifer, I was in tears watching the response by your TPD family at the hospital as reporting by Channel 6 last night. You were in Glenn's squad many years ago and I understand the cancer fight. You are a very strong person. Hang in there. My best to you.
